Torso Sculptures And A Painting

Bill is making torso-sized sculptures in his studio now and they remind me of a painting Leif did below while in high school. The sculptures above are called "Talking Heads" and are planted in the circular drive at Old Farm.

Adding Art

I found this early abstract painting done by Robert Harms who lives in the Hamptons and paints by the water, on-line. It is of ducks on a pond and brings outdoor drama into the farmhouse dining room for Christian. Robert Harms studied painting in Maine and NYC with work owned by the Met. His current paintings of outdoor life are very light in contrast but still large in size. Christian needed his truck to pick this painting up outside of NYC and is thrilled to have it hanging in his newly painted dining room. The painting light is warm LED from Ikea, about thirty dollars and fastens to the painting.
The abstract etchings which are hung on the opposite wall, have wonderful movement and depth. They were fun unsigned or numbered finds at the flea market.

Leif's self portrait will be hung somewhere downstairs I hope, but an old girlfriend's portraits will remain in the archives.

Reinforcing Floor Joists

We have installed metal braces between the doubled kitchen floor joists which will make the new floor very strong and stable. A simple purchase from Home Depot and easy to install. The refrigerator and new counter tops will be well supported while the integrity of the floor feels much improved.
