Growing up near Hopewell included memories of taking visiting family to the Hopewell Quarry for a picnic and swim. Seared in my mind was an image of my Aunt Laura doing a jack knife off the spring board there, in a jet black suit with a wall of quarry stone behind her. The quarry is now being saved by local residents so it may continue as a rare natural spot (which is walking/biking distance from our house). March 12th is a fundraiser and I will join for my 70th birthday. Amazing! Here is my father & Uncle Chris.
