Saratoga Ceramics Show: A Living Legacy

As an apprentice to Toshiko Takaezu for many years at and after graduating Princeton University, Bill will join an exhibition honoring her legacy at the Saratoga Clay Art Center 10/9/21 - 11/13/21 in the Schact Gallery. He will have three new pieces; two garden stones and a garden seat on display. The exhibit is titled "A Living Legacy: Celebrating 10 Years With Toshiko Takaezu And Her Apprentices".

Wonderful White Paint

White is a wonderful color for a farmhouse with good architecture, especially over the years in this case. Finally we get to see this one after repairing it's parts and closing in the front porch. The large steel window added there and restored pergola make lovely statements now. One pergola post was replaced and Christian enhanced the trim all around which makes it super.

Professional Painters

We have hired "ROHI PAINTING" to paint the farmhouse here while we finish painting the barn next to it. ROHI painters have just finished a large Victorian home in Hopewell, took on the tallest steeple church in town, and transformed the enormous Watersheds white barn in nearby Pennington. The quality of their diligent work is wonderful. Much of the house lost it's old primer during power washing and significant sanding was done to prep this building for paint.

Cape Couple

Cape weather has been mostly wonderful this summer, so Alex and Nina have been visiting Old Farm often. It is just over an hour from their place in Charlestown, and they have been taking nearby ferries to visit the islands lately. Both work remotely which makes trips easier. Old Farm has been a comforting place for our family to visit now...while Leif is living here (also working remotely) and helping out! Photo by Alex Paul Photography.

A Wonderful Workbench

When Mom's house sold, I assumed my Dad's workbench belonged to it. However, the new owners did not want it or the small cabinet my father had also built next to it. Just before closing, the boys fit them into Christian's truck to store in his barn, but they actually fit a raised floor work space there. Since this barn shelters most on-going projects, an overhead light will be installed as well as speakers nearby. How lucky is all that? I am so grateful to see them here and remember my father by!

The space was scrubbed and swing door cut down to close & latch.
