Yellow House In Norway

This yellow house is often photographed in Sakrisoy on the Lofoten Islands Norway amid Arctic peaks and crystal blue waters. Discovering it reinforces my Norwegian sense of colors. charlescodyphotography.

This shed was built with Christian & Leif's help while in high school and a foot taller than usual to fit a sleeping loft inside. I am now making it ready for grandkids to play in. The white cabinet was designed by the architect responsible for Copenhagen's Parliamentary Building and one of 3 he built for grandsons. Having a building in one's backyard for sons or daughters is a Norwegian concept also. I bleached & lymed the floorboards my neighbor grew, milled and planed for me.

DWR Lights For Sale

I had 3 DWR classic Tripod Floor Lamps, used staging a Brownstone in Boston and in great condition for $100 ea. (orig. $400). SOLD in a day.

The Tripod Floor Lamp, with its satisfying proportions and refined details, has all the potential of a classic. Its cord is coyly hidden down one leg, for an uninterrupted line. Three thin legs, each with a rubber glide at its base, support a perfectly balanced fabric shade. The clear cord has a foot-controlled, full-range dimmer. Takes three 60 watt LED bulbs.

Attic Curtains & A Rope Bed

 As our attic is cleaned out after 50 yrs. of collecting and new roof fallout, I am selling beloved antiques and moving "must keeps" for the kids while opening attic space - with new curtains I've made!

This bed is headed for Brooklyn where it will be a standout piece which deserves use and attention, while my new curtains shading it add a bit of refinement to our exterior. Attic windows are often neglected IMO as well as a gorgeous old rope bed.

Bill lengthened the side rails of this bed and added an internal skirt of 2x4's for metal corner angle brackets, securing the frame together noninvasively for a full mattress. I had it dip-stripped in MA then waxed & buffed it myself.

September At Old Farm

September is a wonderful month to be on Cape and Christian's family is joining us here after Labor Day when crowds, traffic & temps have gone down leaving all rather serene & scenic. Especially evenings.

   Our private lake beach is a few houses away and similar Millway Beach 10 min.; both sequestered with powdery white sand & shallow pools of water great for toddlers. 

Eating out and grilling on Christian's restored vintage Weber or using the old kitchen which was the "Keeping Room".

We will also cut down several large tree trunks with so many damaged by storms or in the way of our coming new septic line. All trees 10' from both sides of it need removal.
