Finally, we have had nearby Sansone's remove piles of excavated clay from beneath this historic house. A truckload of premium topsoil delivered after to top it off, and many lawn or meadow depressions which have developed over the years. A dumpster was filled three times, but the real work was getting clay and rock dug out from under the house by hand and later spreading dirt which we seeded and now growing grass.

A Wedding With Old Farm
Our oldest son's wedding was this past weekend on Cape Cod and I traveled to Old Farm early to prepare for our stay. The landscaping needed mulch, the driveway needed stone and thirty-three hydrangeas needed serious pruning. It was great fun to entertain on the deck here our newly growing family, while having a special small home to host a few friends overnight.
Russo's of Sandwich supplied top quality stone & mulch without delivery charge and craigslist helped us find an upgraded sit-down Husqvarna mower in a day!
Our extended family; Mitzi and Scott hosted a phenomenal tented clam bake rehearsal dinner with noted Nick Muto & wife at their Chatham home and a perfectly wonderful wedding was celebrated at the Wequassett Resort Club near there.
Above is our Pierre de Ronsard climbing rose from the Romantica Collection 1985, that bloomed for us and will grow 10' with many blooms. Below is the wedding at Wequassett.

Sealing The Porch Floor
After installing a new mahogany front porch floor last October, we have waited for it to weather some before sealing it this Spring. I chose "Cabot's Clear Wood Protector" which is a deep penetrating waterproofer while UV protectant; resisting algae and mildew. It cleans up with soap and water so it is easy to apply besides giving long lasting protection. Great choice. The old bicycle basket on the door holds last year's barn bird nests, our largest pine cones and some Spring ribbons.

The Groom Growing Up
Christmas 2 yrs. old (Born June 2nd; Happy Birthday Alex!)
Alex has "always" been the big brother in our family, but now he will be the groom and gaining a beautiful family in Brazil. Cheers to the good times growing up! Bill and I have chosen the song we will dance to at his wedding; Cheryl Crow singing "Sweet Child Of Mine", and he still is.
"He's got eyes of the bluest skies...His hair reminds me of a warm safe place...
sweet child of mine...sweet love of mine."
