Re-Laying Bricks

Our Memorial Day project this year was to remove a brick "walk" in front of our side door, and regrade the area to drain better. This took two days with Leif's help and cost $75.00. The bricks were removed, cleaned and regraded 1 1/2" higher toward the house using 4 bags of Sakrete Multi Purpose Sand and then 7 bags of Sakrete Sand Mix (for Topping and Bedding) to level. We will wait a week to reinstall tall sculptures and concrete planters here.

From Old To New

Our Cape and Christian's farmhouses are of the oldest in their locations while we now work on our own older home in Hopewell. After renovating their 1800's row home in MA, Alex & Nina are moving to one of the newest buildings in Dumbo (Brooklyn) NYC; 98 Front Street. Although a career move, it keeps them close to family and a vibrant new art area "Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass". The award winning building has beautiful new amenities while Old Farm remains an historic & natural escape to relax near Wequaquet Lake & Nantucket ferries.

What a switch; the Bunker Hill Monument to the Brooklyn Bridge view and Christian's meadows.

Visiting Venice & Biennale Arte 2022

The biennale art exhibit runs from April 23 to Nov. 27, 2022 in Venice; the 59th International Art Exhibition with a building from each country and work from 213 artists. Bill, Alex, Nina and Leif all attended the opening and there are two pictures here of Toshiko Takaezu's inspiring work of which Bill is a foundation member.

Ukraine participated with President Zelensky opening the exhibition about defending freedom with heroism and art, which took center stage here. Above is "The Fountain Of Exhaustion" (of humanity and democracy) by Pavlo Makov. Photos via Bill, Leif, Phil Oh & pinterest.
