Taking Down Trees

Most of this vacation was spent taking down seven prickly trees (some 50 years old) and pruning many more which was turned to mulch with a rented chipper the next day...installing all new fire alarms, cedar shakes over an old peak vent, and a second kitchen track light...reclaiming two raised garden beds for vegetables and flowers...planting a standard Pee Gee Hydrangea and three Albion Ridge(large white) Rhododendrons...securely installing three of Bill's sculptures...

and replacing a basement and garage side door on our last day.

We reused the old hinges (hammered out) and found wood here to add to the new basement  doors which cost $42.00 to build of 1" X 6" pine wainscoting. They will be painted Zuider Zee Blue next Spring.
